CCD-Kamera im Schmidtfokus

The first CCD camera in the Schmidt focus had its "first light" in May 1996. It was equipped with a 1k x 1k Tektronix chip of 24µm x 24µm pixel size, corresponding to a 21' x 21' field of view.

The currently available (since October 1998) CCD chip is a 2k x 2k SITe chip of 24µm x 24µm pixel size, corresponding to a 42' x 42' field of view. A new CCD camera with a 4k x 4k LMFS CCD 486 chip (15 micron square pixels) is in the test stage.

Details of the CCD camera system are given in the manual . Note however that this description is partly outdated. A new manual is in process...

Standard UBVRI filters and interference filters for HALPHA and [SII] are available.
